OVERVIEW OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED BY THE INDIANA STATE UNIVERSITY ANTHROPOLOGY LABORATORY

In 1988 the Indiana State University Anthropology Laboratory completed excavations of Middle and Late Archaic components at the Bluegrass Site (12 W 162) in Warrick County; it also undertook excavations at 12 Gr 615 and 617, multicomponent sites located along Lattas Creek in Greene County. The Darwin site, a large multicomponent habitation site with mounds was also examined, and Middle and Late Woodland and Mississippian components were identified there. In addition, the Data Center Study Reconnaissance Project neared completion: thus far over 20,000 acres have been systematically examined. A variety of data gathered during the project is being computerized.
