"Proposed. - a Fort on the Ouabacha, (in a letter, December 6th
1744, he more explicitly mentions this Post as 12. Leagues below the Mouthe.)
within 12 leagues of its' Mouth: as it would answer the Ends above proposed;
would also restrain the Incursions of the Cherokees on that River & the
River Mississippi.- it would also check the Tchikachas and restrain the
Encroachments of the English.- here to he says, Miscoutens & Kikapoux,
established at the Grand Ouat, would come & Settle."
