THE OHIO VALLEY-GREAT LAKES ETHNOHISTORY
ARCHIVES: THE MIAMI COLLECTION
It is noted that the following work from the Miami Archives should be read and
considered within the historical context in which it was composed and printed.
The opinions expressed and the language used do not reflect the opinions or
standards of the Glenn A. Black Laboratory of Archaeology, but are, rather,
indicative of thought in that historical moment during which the document was
published.

By Our last Inteligence from Pittsburgh the Indian Goods there were by no means Sufficient to answer the Continual demands of a Number of Western & distant Indians Coming daily in with Skins;
Therefore The General desires that you would Inform the Commissioners of it, that they provide and Send with all Possible dispatch a large quantity of Goods, or if They cannot do it.
The Trade must be Opened & left Free to Every Body, which would be attended with great Inconveniences:
I shall be obliged to you to let me know the Intentions of those Gentlemen, that proper Measures may be taken to prevent disappointment for want of a proper Assortment of Goods.
