It is noted that the following work from the Miami Archives should be read and
considered within the historical context in which it was composed and printed.
The opinions expressed and the language used do not reflect the opinions or
standards of the Glenn A. Black Laboratory of Archaeology, but are, rather,
indicative of thought in that historical moment during which the document was

p. 46.
(This battle was fought between the Delawares, Shawanese, Mingoes, Wyandots, Mohikons, Miamies & Ottawas and Col. Bouquet's Army, on their way to relieve Fort Pitt. This was Bouquet's first trip out- his Exped. against Inds. was in 1764. A map of the battle, by Thomas Hutchins, may be found in Stevens, et. all., The Papers of Henry Bouquet, facing p. 24.)
Near the fording of Beaver-creek also stood about seven houses, which were deserted and destroyed by the Indians, after their defeat at Bushy-Run [by Bouquet, 1763] when they forsook all their remaining settlements in this part of the country.
