There have several small partys of Indiens been about us, with the intent of getting a Skalp or prisoner, but not been in theyr power, went of with killing a few kows, and last few Days ago, fired upon 3 of our men, who are in the Day time at a little abandond advance Post, but did not harm.
A prisoner, Soldr of our Regt now lately came in from the Indiens at Saguinon Bay in lake Huron, told, that the Indiens had killed several prisoners this spring and had threatened to burn him, for which reason he made his escape, when he was sent to cutt Wood: he further says that they said they would come this spring in great numbers to take the (page 124) Fort. we have had several and different accompts; som say they only will act upon theyr deffence, others again say, that the Delawars and Shanees with some Northern Indiens will join our Ottowas, make Skaling Ladders and Storm the Fort. however it may be Colln gladwin is prepared for them, but the same time we are verry well used to theyr threatenings, they very often Said they would Storm a little advance post we had last year, but never did it.
Mr. Prentys, who was Prisoner with the Hurons at Sandusky, was brought in 3 Days ago, by an Indien.
Some of the well disposed Hurons came from theyr hunting, and got liberty of Colln gladwin, to live and plant theyr Corn, about two miles lower down the River then where they used to live formerly.
