TRANSLATION

Before the notary at Post Vincennes and in presence of [a] witness came the Indian chief La Mauvaise Tete of the Piankashaw nation, having sold three acres of land leading from the main road along the side of the field of Mahingouin which he sold to Sieur Busseron and from the other end the three acres leading from the direction of the Indian village along [?] the said road the entire frontage [illeg] to the river, the whole sold to Sieur Francois Busseron entire for the sum of fifty francs in merchandise, which the said La Mauvaise Tete [illeg] has received from the said Sieur Busseron [and] with which he has said [he is] satisfied, in the notary's office in the year one thousand seven hundred and seventy-six, the twenty-fifth of June, and has made his mark.
