Tipton writes Cass that a Mr. Tharp told him that his daughter, (Tharp's), who was stolen by the Indians in Dec. 1811, had been seen with the family of Black Racoon. Tharp had demanded her and she was not released. Tipton informed Richardville & sent for the Godfroys, some of Osages party, Black Racoon, & the girl. The information about hte girl proved to be false.
