Ed Herrmann, M. A. Doctoral Student in Anthropology Research Interests: Midwestern Paleoindian and Early Archaic settlement and subsistence strategies. As a part of this research, my dissertation project uses Geographic Information Systems to incorporate paleoenvironmental reconstruction with early hunter-gatherer site and archaeological data in an effort to better understand mobility patterns. I am particularly interested in lithic data, sourcing and technology. I have been involved in archaeological projects in Germany, Wyoming, Montana and Indiana. As a former brewmaster, I am also interested in the role of fermented beverages in prehistory, and teach a class entitled “The Archaeology and Appreciation of Beer”. Email: edherrma@indiana.edu
