EXCAVATION RESULTS
The following section details the results of the 1994 excavation of the Cox's
Woods site. A total of 142.6 square meters (1.3% of the site) of surface area
was excavated in 34 units. Most were 2 by 2 m units, but some portions of the
units were not excavated because of trees, and some units were extended to expose
larger areas with cultural features. Most of the test units were placed contiguously
to uncover large areas of the village interior.
